# Tracking heatmap

In the widget you can see a **Heatmap**, which shows where a tracker has moved within the building. **Dark red areas** mean that the tracker was often there, while **yellow areas** show that the tracker spent less time there. You can also adjust the time period to see the movement for a specific period.

## Operation

To use the **Tracking Heatmap Widget** efficiently, follow the steps below to configure the view and select the desired time period.

## When should this widget be used?

This widget should be used to **movements in a building** or **a specific floor** visualize over a defined period of time. It is particularly useful for **heatmap data** analyze and **understand**, how people or objects move within a building.

## Configure widget

1. **Make sure**, that you are in the menu **Dashboard** menu.
2. **Click on** «Add widget».
3. **Select** «Tracking heatmap».
4. Optional: **Select in \[H]** a **primary asset** to be used for the title and alarms.
5. **Set in \[I]** how much **space the widget** should take up on the dashboard (1 cell, 2 cells or full width).
6. **Select in \[J]** the **floor**, which should be displayed in the widget.
7. **Select in \[K] the default period for displaying the heatmap data**:

   * **From time**: From when movements are displayed.
   * **To time**: Until when movements are displayed.

   ◈ The period shows the tracker movements between these two times. &#x20;
8. **Select in \[L]** the **Tracker**, whose movements should be visualized in the heatmap.
9. **Click on \[M]** «Add widget».\
   ▷ The widget will be displayed on the dashboard.
10. **Click on \[N]**, to exit the configuration without saving changes.
