## About Assets

Asset Management gives you an overview of all assets (e.g., sensors, devices, integrated systems, etc.). You have the option to view and edit asset details, for example, to store maintenance information or documents.

Every asset and system has its own expert system and, therefore, its own documentation. With BuildingPro Suites, any data can be attached to assets and stored with versioning. The data can be synchronized via a SharePoint and thus offers access for various departments in the company (with or without an BuildingPro Suites login).

With BuildingPro Suites Asset Management, document management becomes accessible company-wide. This way, every employee can find the required documents quickly and easily. Through standardized editing and storage, the company has data sovereignty, a reliable *single point of information*, and saves time from tedious version searches.

In addition, external service personnel can access the documents of a system online and have all the information collected in one overview.

In Asset Management, you get an overview of all assets in your tenant. You have the option to view and edit asset details.

*Example: A malfunction has occurred on your system. In Asset Management, you will find all the assets of your system. You click on the corresponding assets and see all the data that is crucial for troubleshooting. In addition, you take the information for troubleshooting from the stored documents of the corresponding asset. From your workplace, you were able to locate the malfunction, retrieve the necessary data, and now initiate the troubleshooting without having inspected the system locally.*

## What are Assets?

Assets are a central component of BuildingPro Suites Systems. You can think of assets as "containers" for data points and information.

Assets are, for example:

* Sensors (thermometers, smoke detectors, etc.)
* Objects (whiteboards, workstations, beds, etc.)
* Rooms
* Buildings
* Floors
* Countries

### What are not assets?

Not assets are, for example:

* Users
* Tenants
* Tags
