# Platform Core

Platform Core is the engineering and settings backbone of the Mandatory Base. It provides the administrative capabilities required to connect data sources, model and organize assets, manage users and permissions, and govern the system reliably across projects and sites.

This section brings together the parts of BuildingPro Suites that define how the platform is structured and operated behind the scenes. In practice, Platform Core is where administrators, integrators, and advanced users configure the foundation on which all higher-level capabilities run.

## What Platform Core Covers

Platform Core is organized into four main areas:

* [Asset Core](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/mandatory-base/platform-core/asset-core) for asset modeling and template creation
* [Connect Hub](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/mandatory-base/platform-core/connect-hub) for connectivity, data processing, apps, and PKI
* [Workspace & Identity](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/mandatory-base/platform-core/workspace-and-identity) for users, roles, tags, and project-related access structure
* [Governance & Monitoring](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/mandatory-base/platform-core/governance-and-monitoring) for system settings, auditability, and license management

## Why It Matters

Platform Core ensures that all connected systems, assets, users, and settings follow the same structure and governance model. This makes the platform easier to scale, easier to secure, and easier to operate consistently across a single building or an entire portfolio.

Most user-facing capabilities in BuildingPro Suites depend on decisions made here. If the foundation is modeled and configured correctly in Platform Core, dashboards, analytics, automation, and Suite functionality can build on it cleanly.
