## Create a Rule Chain

1. Make sure you are on the Rule Chains page. [-> Open the Rule Chains Page](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/platform/alarms-rules-and-escalations/rule-chains/open-the-rule-chains-page)
2. In the top right of the page, click on **\[A]** <img src="https://3489494878-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F9GvUpaatBiReR43XFSMg%2Fuploads%2FZrmgk7BlyTOrOQRMDmsT%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=4dd965f2-8aa5-4467-bf18-ebfe5ffb2b21" alt="" data-size="line"> .

   ▷ The **<>** window opens.
3. Give the rule chain a name **\[B]**.
4. And give it a description **\[C]**.
5. Click on Create **\[D]**.

   ▷ A rule chain is created.
