# The Insight Analytics Interface

The *Insight Analytics* interface allows you to view and analyze the usage data from energy and resource meters and sensors that are connected in your site and see how they relate to their targeted usage.

It can show selected assets, attributes, charts, and data points, and it may contain multiple chart plots. You can use it directly in dashboards or smart views with the Analytics widget. For shared dashboards, use a Tenant Analytic so that all tenant members can see it. See Analytic and Analytics & Reports.

The *Insight Analytics* interface shows graphical illustrations of your data, along with a summary text/numeric table below the graph. You also have access to conversion and normalization options when analyzing data here.

The interface has the following features

* *Chart* **\[B]**: The main part of the screen shows a graphical illustration of a selected set of data.
* The *Config mode* switch **\[C]** in the toolbar at the top of the interface allows you to show or hide analytics configuration elements. When turned off, only the chart itself remains visible on the screen, providing a clean view for detailed data exploration without distractions.

{% hint style="info" %}
When the Analytics interface is opened directly from the sidebar **\[J]**, Config mode is on by default. However, when a saved Analytic is opened from the *Analytics list*, *Config mode* is automatically switched off.
{% endhint %}

* The *Analytics list* button **\[D]** in the toolbar at the top of the interface returns you to the list of all saved analytics.
* The *"More" menu* (3 dots) **\[E]** provides access to editing, deleting and other actions that can be performed with analytics.
* The *Save* button **\[F]** allows you to store your progress with analytics, ensuring that all current settings and configurations are saved.
* The *Analytics Type* drop-down menu **\[G]** allows you to choose which data set will be displayed – see section [->Analytics types](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/platform/insight-analytics/analytics-types) for details.
* The *Location/System* picker **\[I]** allows data from specific meters or Datapoints to be selected.
* The *Analytics Configuration bar* **\[H]** along the top of the chart provides options to style the chart – *Chart Type* (e.g. line graph, bar chart, Donut etc.) *Mode* (raw or aggregated data) *Interval* (raw, hourly, daily etc.) *Unit conversion* (kWh, CO₂, Cost) etc.
* The *Time Period* picker **\[A]** specifies the chart x-axis, so that the chart will display data recorded during this period.

By default, the data displayed is usually the most recent data from the first meter in the [*-> Location Picker*](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/eliona-english/~/revisions/3KSQ4JbbZNog5vEvCQCg/documentation/insight-analytics/location-picker-meter-tree), and is displayed as a line graph, with a summary table below.

You can compare multiple meters or multiple datapoints over a single time period. Unit conversion and normalization are also available options for your analysis.

To define the view you wish to see, you must specify a [*->meter/Datapoint*](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/platform), a [*->Time period*](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/platform/insight-analytics/the-insight-analytics-interface/time-period-picker), and a [*->Chart type*](https://docs.buildings.ability.abb/collection/platform/insight-analytics/chart-options#chart-type-b).
